First made in 1982, Awatea continues to represent the best of the classic Hawke's Bay Cabernets/Merlot blend. Bullnose is a dark ruby colour with aromas and fl avours of violets, black cherry liqueur and spice, intermingled with notes of prune and raspberry. The rich, full flavoured palate displays velvety, even tannins.

Aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry and star anise. The palate is soft and pillowy with a racing-stripe of boysenberry ripple through it. There are dark roses, raspberries, and notes of sandalwood and liquorice.

Aromas of ripe strawberry, raspberry, lavender and nutmeg. Hints of vanilla and smoke float across a palate that's dominated by soft red fruit and silky fine tannins.

This Syrah includes a touch of Viognier, a traditional winemakeing technique in France's Rhone Valley. It introduces a delightful floral aroma and supple texture to Syrah's spicy dark berry flavours.

Bright violet purple, with good depth. Blackberry and plum fruit flavours dominate upfront. It then leads with some spicy notes of cinnamon and clove.

High in the hills of Central Otago, the Mysterious Diggings vineyard is drenched in sun and comprised of rocky terraces heavy with native schist, imbuing its Pinot Noir namesake with a fragrant sensuality and a tingling minerality.

The distinctive characteristics of this wine derive from the acute sensitivity to climate variations of the nebbiolo grape, which when sourced in the heart of the wine production, can give great red wines from long ageing. This selection has matured up to 2 years, half of that in oak barrels.
